Wonderful days in the no. 1 ski area in South Tyrol
Every 20 minutes the FREE SKIBUS takes you from the Messnerwirt to the Olang/Kroplatz ski lifts and thus directly to the No. 1 ski area in South Tyrol. The Kronplatz attracts you with the most modern lifts and more than 115 kilometres of finely groomed slopes of all levels of difficulty. Its snow guarantee and the perfect connection to the Sella Ronda with another 400 kilometres of slopes guarantee variety and fun! A special challenge for experienced ski fans are the BLACK FIVE: 5 crisp valley slopes for experts. Beginners practice on the wide blue slopes on the flat summit plateau of the 2.275 m high panoramic hill.
Every half hour the new Ski Pustertal Express takes you to the 3Zinnen ski area: the Sexten Dolomites ski region offers wonderful fun on the slopes with a panoramic view of the Three Peaks and, like Kronplatz, is part of the Dolomiti Super Ski consortium!
With its more than 115 kilometres of slopes, Olang's landmark mountain "Kronplatz" is one of the most popular ski mountains in the Alps - recently awarded Best Ski Resort in the Alps!. The free ski bus takes you to the ski lifts in Olang (3 km) every 20 minutes. With the Ski-Pustertal-Express you can easily reach the 3Zinnen ski region in no time!
Both are part of the ski association "Dolomiti Super Ski".
Even in winter you can enjoy wonderful hikes and walks in the snow-covered and untouched winter landscape of the mountains. Among the highlights are the Prato Piazza, the Antholz Valley or the Ahrntal. Numerous alpine huts invite you to warm up during your hike! We will be happy to advise you at first hand where to find the best mountain panoramas!
Cross-country skiers will also get their fill in the beautiful side valleys of Olang: the cross-country world of the Kronplatz region is part of the 'Dolomiti Nordic Ski' network, Europe's largest cross-country ski carousel and boasts an incredible 1,300 kilometres of trails. From Olang you can reach the biathlon Mecca of Antholz, the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco and the wonderful Prato Piazza in Val Braies (high altitude track at 2,000 mt) in just a few minutes!
In winter, fun in the snow is definitely the main thing! In the Kids Area Panorama (only 1 km from the hotel) a children's ski slope, the toboggan run and the tyre fun track offer plenty of opportunities for sliding, buzzing and speeding. In addition, there are 3 magic carpets, which are particularly suitable for beginners.
What could be nicer than enjoying a warming cup of tea after a winter hike through snowy forests and then tobogganing back down to the valley.
The world's best tobogganists come from the Puster Valley. Perhaps it is because their first own vehicle, right after the pushchair, was their own toboggan? What is certain is that they have never lacked opportunities.
Culture lovers will also get their fill at the Kronplatz: in the new Museum of Mountain Photography at the summit of the Kronplatz you can experience the exciting history of mountain photography at 2,275 m above sea level. The Messner Mountain Museums in Bruneck and at the summit of the Kronplatz complete the offer!
