Barley soup |

Ingredients for 4
1 slice of smoked bacon or South Tyrol Speck
1 celery stick
1 small onion
200 g of malted barley
2 litres of water
200 g of smoked meat
1 carrot
1 leek
1 potato
salt and pepper
Chilli powder
Preparation
Chop up the smoked bacon or Speck and brown in a large pan. Add the washed barley and the smoked meat. Cook for about 2 hours. 20 minutes before the cooking time has expired, add the chopped vegetables and allow to simmer. Add the salt, pepper and chilli to taste. Remove the meat and cut it into pieces.
